Dear Delegates,

Welcome to Harvard Model Congress Dubai 2017! We are delighted to join you for the conference in January. The Press Corps provides a challenging and exciting committee experience. You’ll be tasked with the important role of holding politicians accountable, keeping the public informed, and covering developing stories around-the-clock. No two days are quite alike in the Press Corps—we hope you find this environment stimulating and enriching!

Now let us take a moment to introduce ourselves, your committee chairs!

Gavin Sullivan is a senior in Lowell House, concentrating in History with a secondary in Economics. He’s originally from a suburb of Chicago and plans to return to the Midwest after graduation. Outside of HMC, Gavin enjoys going for runs along the Charles River and writing for a political magazine on campus.

Julissa Higgins is a sophomore in Lowell House, seeking a concentration in History and Literature with a secondary in Women and Gender Studies. Julissa has worked with newspaper publications for 5+ years and spent this summer working with TIME Magazine covering the 2016 Presidential election. When Julie is not writing/reporting she is usually reading, going on solo adventures, petting bunnies, or snacking on brownie brittle.

We’re incredibly excited to meet all of you and are ready for an amazing conference!

Press Corps love,

Gavin and Julie
